Version 1.3.0 of my USL package for R has just been published on CRAN. The most important change in this release is the inclusion of standard errors for the coefficients sigma and kappa. I am pleased to announce the general availability of my
usl package for R on CRAN. The package is useful for creating models according to the Universal Scalability Law, which is used to quantify the scalability of hardware or software systems. It uses measurements from an existing system to predict the throughput for different loads and can be used to learn more about the scalability limitations of the system.
In August 2011 Dave Abercrombie wrote an article about the Universal Scalability Law (USL) in an Oracle OLTP database. He used Mathematica for his calculations and wanted to provide a solution based on R later. Currently I am keen to learn more about the Universal Scalability Law and therefore I decided to transform his calculations into R code myself.Continue reading "Universal Scalability Law in Oracle"
