About Me

I am a Database Architect & Performance Engineer living in Bonn, Germany. I have worked over 15 years in the industry gaining more than 12 years of hands-on Oracle experience. My professional skills cover the design, administration and tuning of Oracle databases varying from single user APEX installations to mission critical databases supporting 12000 concurrent sessions.

In addition to my work related to Oracle I have expert knowledge in Unix system administration (mostly Solaris & Linux) and a profound background in network & storage technologies, virtualization and high-availability concepts. I have hacked Apache, Emacs, OpenLDAP & Sendmail and contributed to the FreeBSD operating system.

Furthermore, I code SQL, PL/SQL, Perl, C and sometimes a bit of Lisp. I enjoy LaTeX and R more than Word and Excel but I know how to to use them nevertheless.

I hold a Diplom (equiv. M.Sc.) in computer science from the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. I am also a Sun Certified System Administrator (SCSA) and Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).
